I know that there are many factors that cause stretch marks . Stretch marks are often the result of the rapid stretching of the skin associated with rapid growth or rapid weight changes. Stretch marks may also be influenced by hormonal changes associated with puberty, pregnancy, bodybuilding, etc.

My journey with stretckmarks and discoloration started during pregnancy. My stomach had grown to its maximum capacity. It had no more to give. I managed to resist the temptation to scratch by staying heavily moisturized AT ALL TIMES. Unfortunately everything when south when I was prescribed amoxicillin. I broke out in a terrible itchy rash! I was allergic to amoxicillin! GREAT!
Now not only was I allergic to my medicine but I’m also allergic to histamine. Histamine is the chemical (neuro-transmitter) your body produces when you’re having an allergic reaction. Can you imagine the torture? I could not resist scratching at this point. Even though it burned when I scratched, it was better than itching.
I had no clue what my stomach was going to look like after I gave birth. Well let me tell you, I was shocked! My whole stomach was black! The skin texture faintly resembled snake skin. I had circular stretch marks around my stomach and navel. I’m not going to lie, compared to what I’ve seen, mine were nothing. Even still for a woman to not look like her pre-pregnant self is daunting.
How did I fight back? Palmers lotions!  I had read that hydrating from the inside and outside were the best ways to help heal the skin. I drank as much water as i could tolerate (I strongly dislike water). I also used two different kinds. Palmers Firming Butter after pregnancy and Palmers Massage Lotion for Stretch Marks during . Now I’m sure you like “why two different ones”. The answer is simple. Both bottles said different things and I wanted to make sure I covered all bases. I needed my stomach to go back to its normal look.
Funny thing is I didn’t even realize it was getting better. It wasn’t until a makeup artist that I work with all of the time pointed it out.
So, with al of this being said, ladies AND gentlemen… If you are are looking for a product to help with those unwanted stretch marks, I strongly suggest looking into Palmers.
