Ok, ladies and gents I HAVE to tell you about this new hair company that I received hair from. Teased Hair Extensions is the name of the company. They have 6 different hair types to choose from. Dubai Straight, Fiji Wave, Jamaican Curly, Maldives Wave, Moroccan Wave, and St Tropez Deep Wave. (They also offer closures)I chose their Jamaican Curly hair for my first round of extensions.
In all fairness, to give a proper review, I’ve waited weeks after my install to give you the scoop. Too many times have I gotten hair and it was love at first sight. Only to be HIGHLY disappointed after the first wash. I waited for good reason . Now, on to the review.
Delivery: Delivery was pretty swift. From what I can recall (sorry I threw the delivery packaging away), the hair shipped from Canada. I’ve never purchased anything from Canada before so I don’t know about the normal shipping wait time. My Teased Hair Extensions arrived within the week of ordering.
Packaging: I must say that it was absolutely refreshing to pull the bundles out of a box. I’ve seen a lot of companies send bundles in plastic bags with the inches handwritten on them . If I’m spending hundreds of dollars on hair, I want decent packaging all around! With Teased, at least you’ll feel like your business is appreciated.
Bundles: The bundles are nice and full. The wefts are thick, but not so thick that if you wanted to sew through them, that you can’t. The elastic holding each weft is easily removable and doesn’t leave any residue on the hair. The hair itself at first touch is very soft and silky and there’s no chemical smell.
The bundles are not labeled with their inches but it’s easy to tell them apart. Even with the curliest hair they offer.
Hair condition: Straight out of the box, each bundle had great a great color and sheen. The ends were “clean”. You won’t have to worry about losing inches due to unhealthy ends. Ok, so, I must admit that for the first week and a half after installation day, I PURPOSELY DID NOT BRUSH OR COMB THE HAIR. I wanted to see how the hair would keep, untouched. To my surprise for the first week, it really held up. It was still soft and bouncy. Even with my new love for the gym. Once I hit pass a week, naturally the hair started to tangle.
This is a peek of my curls untamed.
Combing and brushing out my bundles.
I don’t know what made me think that I would be able to do a comb and go when I was finally ready to tackle my locks. HA! No! The hair got so big and unruly that I was afraid to sleep on it. I feared that if I slept on it that I would pay for that act 10 fold in the morning. Kind of how I would if I did it to my natural hair.
I had to put my plan B into motion. A great twist out. I got Jamaican Curly so that I could wear “natural hair styles”. Now was the time to see what this hair was made of. After a light wash and a leave-in condition, I twisted my mane.
Shedding: For hair so curly and untouched for over a week, the amount of hair in the brush when I detangled was minimal. I was surprised at how much hair wasn’t pulled out. *FYI I also did not have my wefts cut during installation.*
Overall: I give Teased Hair Extensions two thumbs up. If you are someone who loves curly hair and natural hair styles, Teased Hair’s curly hair option is just for you! My twists came out looking stellar! And so did my twist out.
S/N: Once I bleach these bundles, I’ll do another review on it. It won’t be anytime soon but be on the lookout. Once you bleach hair it can turn into a beast. So we shall see at a later date.
